Icicle Technologies Recognized on 2021 Agri-Food Ready to Rocket List
RICHMOND, BC (March 25 2021) ‒ Icicle Technologies Inc. was selected for the 2021 “Ready to Rocket” list under Agri-Food, demonstrating their advantageous position in the agri-food sector with the award-winning food and cannabis ERP system, Icicle.
The “Ready to Rocket” list is released each year by the Rocket Builders consulting firm and highlights the top tech companies in British Columbia with the highest revenue growth potential. Icicle Technologies Inc. was one of 213 companies (out of over 600 companies considered) to be recognized by Rocket Builders this year, the 19th year the list has been published.
2021 is only the second year that Rocket Builders has included an agri-food section of the list, which includes technology companies in the agriculture and food value chains. “This mix of Agricultural Technology (AgTech), Food Technology (Food Tech), Food Delivery, and Cannabis Technology (CannabisTech) is an area of great innovation and accelerated adoption due to the pandemic,” Rocket Builders Senior Partner Dave Thomas said.
The COVID-19 pandemic made it more important than ever to adopt automation technology like Icicle. Manual health and safety procedures leave food businesses vulnerable to human error, buried under mountains of paperwork, and struggling to navigate changing regulatory requirements. With Icicle, food business like Fraser Valley Specialty Poultry were able to safely reopen their facility quickly following a COVID-19 outbreak and ensure the safety of their workers going forward.
Icicle users were also able to take advantage of Icicle’s COVID-19 Prevention and Control System, which helped food businesses prevent outbreaks at their facilities and also manage other realities of the pandemic. Icicle user Honest Dumplings explained in a recent case study how Icicle helped them secure their meat supply in the early months of the pandemic, enabling them to maintain production and triple their business in 2020.
Icicle also enabled hundreds of food company employees to work remotely if their job allowed it, including auditors and inspectors.
“We are proud to be recognized as a Rocket Builder yet again this year,” Icicle Technologies CEO and President Steven Burton said. “We love working in the agri-food sector and always look forward to supporting food and cannabis companies as they adopt more advanced technology to produce better, safer products.”
“Each year when we choose the Ready to Rocket companies, we are looking for those companies that leverage the latest trends and offer a unique, compelling value proposition. Icicle Technologies Inc. is an excellent
example of a company taking key steps toward achieving its commercial potential.” said Geoffrey Hansen, Managing Partner, Rocket Builders.
