Icicle Selected for 2020 “Ready to Rocket” List in Agri-Food

Icicle Selected for 2020 Ready to Rocket List

RICHMOND, BC (April 14, 2020) ‒ Each year, the management consulting firm Rocket Builders announces their list of the top British Columbia tech companies with the highest growth potential in the province. Icicle Technologies Inc., the company behind the food and cannabis ERP powerhouse Icicle, was selected from over 600 nominees for the Ready to Rocket’s 2020 list in the Agri-Food category.

“Each year when we choose the Ready to Rocket companies, we are looking for those companies that leverage the latest trends and offer a unique, compelling value proposition. Icicle Technologies is an excellent example of a company taking key steps toward achieving its commercial potential.” said Geoffrey Hansen, Managing Partner of Rocket Builders.

This year’s list is the 18th from Rocket Builders and the second to include Agri-Food alongside the other categories (Information and Communication Technology, CleanTech, Life Science, and Digital Health). Rocket Builders uses a tried and tested methodology to determine the final selections. The results from the 2019 list were also released today, showing strong revenue growth across all sectors (over 40% on average) and reporting more than half of the companies selected received investment. In the Agri-Food category, 60% raised investment.

“We are always honoured to be recognized here in our home community of British Columbia,” said Icicle CEO & President Steven Burton. “By building dynamic and innovative technology, we are working to help food and cannabis companies operate at the highest standards of food safety and quality and we’re proud of our record.”

Icicle Technologies’ latest initiative is focused on providing Icicle users and other food and cannabis businesses with the support they need to adapt their operations for a pandemic environment, including:

  • Transitioning to remote work (including task management and oversight through Icicle’s cloud-based system)
  • Launching per-configured incident responses to provide guidance to workers
  • Automating processes like the collection of sensor readings
  • Managing vendors and inventory
  • Seamlessly scaling up or scaling back production as demand fluctuates.

Icicle released an example COVID-19 SOP (Standard Operating Procedure) to help companies adjust their regular food safety program for the current global realities. The SOP is available to download on the Icicle website at no cost.
